Justice League – Top #pAutomators on the internet!

Today the new DC Comics Extended Universe (DCEU) movie Justice League premieres! And we only have one question: Is Superman dead or alive? If you don’t follow the DCEU, ~spoiler alert~ Clark Kent (Superman) supposedly sacrifices himself to kill Doomsday and save mankind. With him gone and an invasion taking place on Earth, Bruce Wayne (Batman) and Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) decide to recruit other “metahumans” for a Justice League to save the planet. This team of superheroes consists of Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg. Pretty cool, right?

Anyway, we here at Visaya are so keen to go and watch this movie! We got so into it that we decided to show you our #pAuto Justice League. Yeah, maybe they can’t fly or talk to fish, but they do great work in the automation world. So we decided to present them for y’all to check out. A while back, we also wrote about seven LinkedIn experts you should follow. If you can’t get enough with our Justice League experts, then you should check these other experts out.

 Arpad Veress

Arpad’s superpower is handling hazardous areas! (An area qualifies as hazardous if it has a strong possibility of explosions.) As a certified ATEX and IECEx auditor with many years of experience, he founded the ExForum, a hazardous-area conference held in Hungary, in 2004. He has a total of 78 published articles on LinkedIn. If you want to know more about him, then check out his profile! These two LinkedIn articles will tell you more about his superpower:

Identification of your assets in possible hazardous areas

Explosion protection – Compliance – chExlist

Dr. Marcio Wagner da Silva

Marcio’s superpower involves oil refining technology! A chemical engineer and project manager with over 8 years experience, he has worked at Petróleo Brasileiro SA (PETROBRAS) since 2010. If you want to learn more about oil refining gas processes, then you should read his articles on LinkedIn. Take a look at these two for starters:

Aromatics Production Complexes – Higher Profitability in the Crude Oil Refining Chain

Improving Oil Derivates Quality and Refining Margin – Catalytic Reforming Technologies

Jonas Berge

Jonas has command over all the fish in the sea – I mean digital communication and IIoT! He has directed the applied-technology department at Emerson for over 10 years now. On his LinkedIn profile, you’ll find insights on IIoT and digital concepts in the 46 articles he has up. Jonas writes articles not only on his LinkedIn profile but also for Emerson Process Experts. If you want to learn more about IIoT, then start here:

IIoT and control: Can you trust your sensors?

Oliver Seifert

Oliver’s superpower is flow measurement! He has worked at Endress+Hauser for over 15 years and currently holds the title Head of Product Management for the Thermal Mass and Vortex Flowmeters at Endress + Hauser Flowtec AG. Whew, he needs a superpower just to carry that title! He doesn’t write articles like the other experts mentioned here so far, but he always shares great information about flow. So follow him to stay updated.

Camila Cancio

The Wonder Woman of our automation Justice League is Camila Cancio! To celebrate 10 years of work in the automation world, she decided to take the Certified Automation Professional (CAP) test held by the International Society of Automation (ISA). When she passed the test, she became the first Brazilian woman to earn this certification. Kudos to Camila! Congratulate her on her LinkedIn profile.

Augusto Pereira

Last but not least, the Batman of our team is Augusto Pereira! In 2011, he received the title of Fellow Member of ISA. The ISA picks only a handful of members for this honor. You had to have made big strides in engineering or scientific automation according to your peers. In his 20+ years in the industry, he worked for companies such as Dow, Yokogawa, and Emerson. He doesn’t write articles either, but he co-wrote a book with Ian Verhappen called Foundation Fieldbus: A Pocket Guide. ISA itself published this book, so you know it’s kind of a big deal. Now he works as a university professor. If you want to learn more about Augusto, then you  can find his LinkedIn profile here.

Hope you enjoyed our list of “superheroes” and got to know some of the people that contribute to the #pAuto world. Our heroes may not protect humanity from aliens – although you never know! – but they can surely save your plant from unscheduled downtime. If you want to add heroes to our league, then drop us a line with the #pAutomator tag on our social media!
