Details

The FTE20 is a rotary paddle switch for point level detection in bulk materials. Its robust polymer housing and compact design makes it an ideal sensor for full, empty and demand alarm in applications with bulk solids. The optimized polymers make the unit outstandingly robust and therefore suitable for use in dust explosive areas according the latest standards. The FTE20 is capable of detecting mediums with lower densities compared to its predecessors FTE30 & FTE31.

Questions & Answers

What are some special mounting instructions for efficient operability? (1 answer)
by Sandra Scott, almost 2 years ago
The following are some special mounting instructions: For load: Max Side load on the shaft should be not more than 60 N, load on the rope should not exceed 1500 N. The operating absolute pressure the value should be between 0.5-2.5 bar. The housing can be rotated 360 degrees. The dust protection plugs are to be inserted when the cables are in transit or storage. Lastly, the optional signal lamp must be protected against mechanical load of an impact energy of more than one joules.

What are the supply and communication protocol available? (1 answer)
by Sandra Scott, about 2 years ago
The FTE20 comes with a lot of supply voltage options which are mentioned as follows: 24 V AC at a frequency of 50/60 Hz, 115 V AC at a frequency of 50/60 Hz, 230 V AC at a frequency of 50/60 Hz, and 20 to 28 V DC. The supported protocol provided for this device is a Micro Switch with changeover contact and works until a maximum supply of 10 A/250 V AC.

What is the working principle of the FTE20? (1 answer)
by Kristina Peterson, over 2 years ago
The device is deployed into silos containing solids that requires the full or refill status. Yes, this device measures point level detection in solids. The device is equipped with a shaft and paddle driven using a synchronous motor coupled to a reduction gear. So, when the paddle is stopped by the solids in the silos, the housing moves from rest to switch position indicating that the silo is full/requires refill. This movement operates two switch contacts; the first is for external level indication and the second switches off the power to the motor. Any intermittent loads that operate against or even in the same direction of rotation are evened out by a slip clutch.
