Product Review: Endress+Hauser TMR35 compact hygienic thermometer
The article discusses all that you need to know about this compact thermometer.
The Easytemp TMR35 hygienic thermometer may not look like much, but it comes with a long list of hygienic connections and certifications. You can connect it directly into your system using analog or a four-wire Pt100.
The Endress + Hauser TMR35 focuses on hygienic applications, mostly in the food and beverage industry and life-science applications. You set its measuring range on your order form, and the vendor configures it for you. That way, you can drop it into your process as soon as you receive it. However, if you want to change some fundamental points, you can still do that with the ReadWin software and USB interface.
If you would like to know more about connecting a temperature sensor to your control system, we have an article on that.
The Endress + Hauser TMR35’s features
The Easytemp TMR35’s Pt100 can measure from -50 to 200 °C (-58 °F to 392 °F) in a maximum static pressure of 100 bar (1.450 psi) at 20 °C.
You won’t need a thermowell for this one either. You can install it directly in your process, and it works especially well in pipes. Furthermore, it has an immersion length up to 600 mm (23.62 in) and a stainless steel protection tube.
The Endress + Hauser TMR35’s generous list of hygienic process connections includes conical sealing systems, clamp connections, Varivent, and much more. Beyond that, we don’t have much else to tell you about this simple device. But check out its page in our device directory if we missed a point you really need to know.
Why should I care?
Because the Endress + Hauser TMR35 doesn’t cost a lot and gives you plenty. And you can order it for analog or the four-wire Pt100, whichever works better for you.
Like the TMR31, its Class A accuracy provides a response of 50 times a second and 90 every two seconds. You can get the outer protection tube as 3 or 6 mm (0.16 or 0.24 in) and surface roughness as 0.4 or 0.8 micrometer (16 or 32 microinches).
And of course, as a hygienic device, this model must have the right certifications. You can find 3A and many others on our device page.
The Endress + Hauser TMR35 should perform well in many hygienic applications. Naturally, you should compare it to other brands, so we listed some of them on the right side of the page.
