Product Review: Endress+Hauser Thermophant T TTR35

Time to review a new product! Today I decided to check out the Thermophant T TTR35 from Endress+Hauser, another device for hygienic segments like life science or food and beverage. The TTR35 has a good and simple interface, providing a smooth configuration during its commissioning. It has a display for your process and menu data, and you can set it up using the operation keys.

It also has several LEDs for status alerts. Green means OK, red means error or fault, and red-and-green blinking means warning. The yellow LED lets you know if the switch is closed (on) or open (off). If you have FieldCare or ReadWin 2000, then you can use the communication jack to connect the Thermophant to your computer.


What can it do?

The Thermophant T TTR35 works as a temperature switch for hygienic applications using Pt 100 (class A as per IEC 60751). So if you work in a food and beverage or life science company, this device could help you. Let’s check its features and see.

First, you can measure, monitor, or control temperature in hygienic processes. This model offers an extensive list of hygienic connections, such as Varivent F and N, DIN 11851, and APV inline. Second, the TTR35 can measure from -50 to 150 °C (-58 to +302 °F) or -50 to +200 °C (-58 to +392 °F) with a neck.

Now, let’s review how to integrate this device in your control system. You can power it up with 12 to 30 volts of direct current, and it can have two PNP switch outputs or one PNP and one analog output. So you can integrate it in tons of applications.
