Today, we have the Vivace VTT10-MP to review! The VTT10-MP is a temperature and input/output (I/O) transmitter, so you can do many things with this device. It’s not a high-end product, but it covers the minimum in a lot of standard applications. Stick with me and let’s see what we find!

What is it?

This multi-point transmitter has a fairly simple design and installation. But before we get into its technical details, I’d like to comment on the company’s website.

To access the datasheet and technical information, you have to create a profile. That means jumping through several hoops and giving up a bunch of information. Really, Vivace?

You shouldn’t have to log in to get a simple datasheet, but it looks like the same marketing company creates nearly all the automation websites in Brazil. Want a workaround? Then go to Yopmail for an email and create random profile information, then download the files.

On one hand, I get it. If the company creates an optional ebook or engineering guide, then sure, protect that. On the other hand, if you want to keep customers, then don’t make it hard for them to get information they need! They’ll dump you and go to Emerson or ABB or any of the other companies where anyone can download product docs immediately. Bye-bye, money!

Okay, rant over. Back to the VTT10-MP. It has a local display to see the process data and the device menu if you want to set it up locally. It also has a magnetic key for the configuration, to select the settings and act on the functions.

The local configuration is kinda slow, so I would set up on the network. Vivace offers a PROFIBUS interface and the software to set your device up, or you can take a look at other options on the market.

On the local LCD, you can see the relevant data – diagnostics, maintenance recommendations, and such. If you want to see everything it can show you, then the technical manual will fill you in.

What can it do?

The VTT10-MP measures temperature first, but it also works as a remote I/O. You get eight input channels that can read RTD sensors, thermocouples, ohm signals, and millivolts.

Besides these eight inputs, it also has two analog inputs and two analog outputs. These inputs can read analog or volts, but the output only does analog. Still, these inputs give you the ability to add an analog device to your PROFIBUS network.

Even with all the inputs and outputs, the VTT10-MP is a loop-powered device and allows easy integration. It works with a power supply from 9 to 32 volts of direct current, with an idle current of 12 milliamps.

Why should I care?

If you want advanced features and diagnostics, then you should check out other options on our device page. On the other hand, if you need a budget-friendly temperature transmitter, the Vivace VTT10-MP will give you everything you need and then some.

Vivace says it has an accuracy of +-0.01 percent of the calibrated span, which sounds pretty good.  And you can get two types of housing material, aluminum or plastic.

It has yet to receive the approvals it needs for hazardous environments, but the housing has a rating of IP20. Vivace designed it for PROFIBUS, but adding HART or another protocol in the future could be a good idea.


The Vivace VTT10-MP makes a decent entry-level device, although it could use a better local setup and a diagnostic or two. But if you need a multi-point temperature transmitter or even a simple converter, then you definitely need to take a look at this product.
