Expert’s answer: What do you need to know about HART polling addresses?

All HART devices must follow HART Foundation requirements, and many applications need HART polling addresses for a variety of reasons.

If you decide to use a multidrop, for example, then each device in the network will need a different address. You also need an address to convert HART to analog output or to install a wirelessHART adapter in your field device.

If all these applications need addresses, then you need a lot of possibilities. Better too many than not enough, right?
