Expert’s answer: Heartbeat verification

First of all, you need to change the mindset related to maintenance. Having a flow meter helps you to avoid future problems.

If you have experience with the application and all possible problems that can affect the flow meter, you are the best person to determine when is necessary to do the flow meter verification.

However, if you don’t have this kind of expertise, I recommend to run the report once a month to check the flow meter conditions. Yet, if you find out that once a month is too often it will also be sufficient to run the verification each 2 to 6 months.

The Heartbeat technology report will give you detailed information about the output, the transmitter and the sensor conditions. With these information you are able to check if the device is working properly or if you need to schedule a maintenance.

The idea is to trace the lifespan of the flow meter. Therefore the Heartbeat technology and the FieldCare can be a major help. FieldCare provides you with a graphic to track any changes of the flow meter. As a result you will be able to avoid unscheduled downtime.
