We have three Coriolis mass flow meters for ethylene, one on the main battery limit and the other two on different reactors. Their meters should match the main battery's meter. Right now, we have one to two tons per kilogram of difference, with the battery limit showing less. Can anybody help me solve this issue?

As always, you first need to check the installation of the flow meters to figure out any Coriolis mass flow reading variation. Not only do you need to install them following the recommendations, but also you need to confirm that you did the meter zeroing properly. However, most of the time we do not recommend zeroing. We prefer to keep this procedure as a last resort, because if the engineer or tech doing the zeroing makes a mistake, it’ll affect the flow meter measurement.
Also, you should check the K-factor, if only to make sure it hasn’t changed. We’ve see K-factor problems before where someone changed it and the meter began to read wrong.
Now, using PAM software, a handheld, or the local display, check the device for maintenance or error messages. Last but not least, look for bubbles in the process. Yes, this simple occurrence can affect how the meter will perform.
