They also have a lot of limitations to deal with. Now, if your client only needs to receive the flow status in the control system, you have some options.

Most flow indicators use microwaves to detect the flow, making them non-contact devices. The device transmits microwaves, and the moving bulk solids reflect this signal. Then the device measures the strength of the reflections and frequency-shifted (Doppler effect) energy. Next, it analyzes this data and sends the results to the display or the signal output.

On the other hand, the ICENTA sensor uses a different method. It generates an electric field between the transmitting and the receiving electrodes. The reaction time of the sensor increases as soon as solid particles enter this electric field. Therefore, the sensor can read and analyze this change.
