Monitoring compressed air filters!

Hi. I have a filter on my compressed air line, and I'd like to monitor it. How can I do that?

Expert’s answer: Monitoring compressed air filters

Squishy squishy! Ahem, yes. Monitoring compressed air filters. Okay, this counts as a run-of-the-mill gig. One of the easiest – yet still effective! – ways? Slap a cheap pressure transmitter on each side of the filter. Yup. You can also put in a differential pressure transmitter. Six of one, half dozen of the other here.

Both setups will check the pressure before and after the filter. If the pressure before reads higher than pressure after, then clean your filter, you slob! These transmitters can also do more than just monitor your filter, if you have an itch for more data. Knowledge is power, y’know.

Plus, if you don’t have the cable structure you’d need for a wired transmitter, remember you can go wireless on your new measurement point. It’ll save you money in the long run, so think about it!
