PROFINET Flow meter

Flow Q&A

We have a PROFINET network in our company, and we are looking for a field device with the PROFINET already built-in, how about the PROFINET connection?

Expert’s answer: PROFINET Flow meter

To be honest, there are already better PROFINET flow meter options on the market nowadays. So, the Emerson Automation Solutions offer the Micro Motion 5700 with PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and Modbus. There are 3 models from Endress+Hauser, the PROMASS 100 and PROMASS 300/500 both with the same Ethernet protocol.

The system integration will be the same for all PROFINET devices. You won’t spend too much time to integrate the device into your control system. Once you have the GSD file, then you will see all information coming from the flow meter into the control system.

An important point to check is if the device is certified by the PI association to make sure that your device has seamless integration.
