What is a wireless manometer?

Pressure Q&A Wireless

Do wireless manometers exist? I need to monitor pressure, and I heard about this technology. If they do exist, could you tell me about them?

Expert’s answer: What is a wireless manometer?

Wireless manometers do indeed exist. They have yet to become standard, or even common, but they offer enough benefits for that to change. A wireless manometer gives you a chance to send all process data directly to your control system. That means the process operator won’t waste so much time walking through the plant to check pressure values.

One caveat – they cost more than regular manometers. Otherwise, the benefits they can offer your company are vast. Another point – pay attention to the communication options.

If you neglect your research, you may wind up shackled to a brand. Whenever you can, choose an open protocol. You’ll find more vendors offering the same technology, giving you  the power to make good choices and change companies if necessary.

Temperature measurement between two parts
In reality, I could likely settle for thermocouples one/inch or so, but that would be a lot of inches at 36×36″. Does anyone know any devices, sensor matrix, and or material that may work here?

Pressure monitoring solutions
We need pressure measurement at my plant on a 20-inch pipe, and we don’t know which pressure transmitter we should use. Any advice?

Pressure process accuracy
I need to make a calculation based on a value of recorded pressure, but I need to know the measurement error. If the manufacturer publishes an accuracy of 0.02 percent, is this only when first shipped or is it always this accurate? Is the accuracy of Bourdon tubes any different?
